Absa Group, SACCI celebrate success of inaugural Women-in-Business Directors Training Programme
Absa Group is proud to have collaborated with the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) to sponsor the inaugural Absa-SACCI Women-in-Business Directors Training Programme, which took place from 5 July to 2 August 2024 and culminated in ten (10) women completing the programme.
The board training programme, conducted by the Institute of Directors South Africa, was aimed at identifying and nurturing women who have the potential to excel in board roles, and equipping them with the essential knowledge and skills required to thrive as successful business leaders and board members. The content covered critical areas such as governance, strategic planning, ethics, compliance and risk management.
Standard Bank SACCI Business Pitch Competition

On August 7, 2024, the Standard Bank and SACCI Business Pitch Competition event took place at Premier Hotel Quartermain, showcasing the top 10 finalists as they presented their pitches. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with other entrepreneurs and industry leaders, gaining valuable insights into what constitutes a winning pitch. The event also offered a chance to discover more about Standard Bank’s Enterprise and Supplier Development Program.
SACCI Business Breakfast: Business Finance, Compliance & Mentorship Edition in Partnership with Business Partners

On July 24, 2024, the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI), in partnership with Business Partners, hosted a highly insightful Business Breakfast focused on Funding & Business Finance, Compliance, and Mentorship. The event took place at Forvis Mazars in Melrose Estate, Johannesburg, from 08:30 to 13:00.
Attendees gained valuable insights into expanding their businesses with optimal finance products, securing funding, and attracting investors. The session also covered essential aspects of compliance and mentorship, offering practical advice for achieving business success. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions and receive expert guidance on these critical topics, while also networking and forming new business connections. The event proved to be a significant platform for learning and collaboration.
