In a statement issued today the CEO of SACCI, Mr. Neren Rau, said:

QUOTE:

The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) encourages Eskom to continue to communicate with the Business Community on the status of the power grid over the short to medium term. SACCI understands that accidents do happen and luckily local businesses have been innovative in adapting operational models to unforeseen power outages. The 13% annual increase in robberies at business premises is a clear indication that the SAPS must urgently improve its coordinated policing at malls, offices and factories around the country.
